    Event description

Did you know that Australians are the second-highest consumers of textiles in the world, that's double the global average! Each year 227,000 tonnes of clothing go into landfill, generating greenhouse methane gas and leaching toxic chemicals and dyes into the groundwater and soil 🤯.

Join academic, researcher and sustainable fashion advocate Lisa Piller to chat more about:

    • Why a circular fashion economy is better for our planet
    • Why circular fashion involves everyone – shoppers, designers, makers, fibre producers, retailers, recyclers and government.
    • Cool innovations tackling textile waste happening around the world and in our own backyard

The presentation with be followed by WMRC's late-night clothing swap where you can swap clothes, shoes, and accessories you no longer wear and leave with a refreshed wardrobe without the big spend! 👗👔👟
