The presentation with be followed by WMRC's late-night clothing swap where you can swap clothes, shoes, and accessories you no longer wear and leave with a refreshed wardrobe without the big spend! 👗👔👟

🚙 Parking: There is free street parking available on the streets nearest the centre.

💰 Cost: $5.00 + booking fee

Tickets are limited and non-refundable. If you can no longer attend this event, your ticket can be swapped for another WMRC event if enough notice is given.

Member council tickets are available to residents from Claremont, Cottesloe, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove & Subiaco.

General admission tickets are available for residents from other councils.

How it works:

1) Register for a ticket and look through your cupboards to find good-quality items you no longer wear to bring to the swap.

2) Join us at Tom Dadour Community Centre in Subiaco from 5.30 pm - 6 pm and hand your clothes over to be weighed and sorted by our lovely volunteers. Please arrive promptly as doors will shut at 6 pm.

3) Have a seat in the presentation room while the volunteers sort the clothing for the swap.

4) Relax and enjoy Lisa Piller's engaging discussion on textile waste concerns and innovative solutions. Attendees are expected to stay for the duration of the event, including the waste talk.

5) Move to the swap room and browse the clothing racks at your leisure between 6.45 pm- 8.30 pm.

More about Lisa Piller:

A researcher, academic and advocate for systemic change to the fashion supply chain, Lisa lectures in innovation, fashion design and fashion business at the University of Canberra and South Metropolitan TAFE. This follows a 16-year career working in fashion product design and development, and sustainable supply chain management.

Author of Designing for Circularity: sustainable pathways for Australian fashion small medium enterprise, Lisa recently published in the International Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management. Lisa is a founding member of the WA Circular Fashion Consortium (WACFC) and recently co-authored the State of Fashion and Textile Circularity in WA Report, providing a local context to the national agenda.

With a passion for holistic and conscious design models and zero-waste approaches, Lisa is dedicated to supporting students and industry in lasting careers as ethical, sustainable and innovative designers.
