Clove (Alexandra Cardona-Morales), is an indie-pop singer/songwriter based in upstate New York and originally hailing from Puerto Rico. Born into a family of singers and instrumentalists, music has always been in her blood. Clove’s Christian faith is essential to her, and growing up in church also fed her desire for musical expression and interpretation. She’s been singing since she was 4 years old and her love for composing began at the age of 10. Since then, songwriting has developed into her creative, emotional and spiritual outlet. For Clove, music has been her passion, her voice, her joy and her sorrow. It has been a healing balm, particularly during tough times. Her dream is to bring the comfort that she has received through music unto others. She also feels that much of mainstream music addresses a very narrow and superficial amount of topics, so her aim is to provide music that isn’t just about romantic relationships, break-ups, ego trips or partying. Rather, Clove wants to address the larger, deeper issues that affect us all but need more conversation and more hope: self-image, mental health, being single, relationship conflicts, family, culture, spirituality and faith. Clove hopes that her music will give people hope and confidence, letting them know they are seen, heard and loved - and through that shared connection, help them get through their own similar experiences.
