POSTPONED Code of Ethics Noho now May 2022
Event description
This Code of Ethics training will be over two full days. We would prefer this to be a noho (overnight) marae stay for this training for everyone to build stronger connections and gain extra bicultural knowledge, however due to the current situation with COVID we are wanting to follow the health guidelines that have been put in place.
The Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa defines key values and standards for youth workers in Aotearoa. The 3rd Edition of the Code of Ethics is developed around Mana Taiohi and is comprised of 24 clauses.
It's not about what you can't do. It's about growing in solid youth development practice for our rangatahi and celebrating the unique and necessary approach that defines youth work.
The Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa does not have a 'Treaty clause', instead a commitment to biculturalism is woven throughout the document. In order to have our Ethics Training better reflect this, we hold our training at a marae. Unfortunately, to adhere to alert level restrictions, we cannot have a noho marae. However, biculturalism will still be woven into this two-day training.
Also, this training is a prerequisite for membership with Rerenga Awa | Canterbury Youth Workers Collective and as part of our commitment to the bicultural journey.
Payment Policy:
These trainings are highly subsidised by the Department of Internal Affairs and without this sponsorship, each participant would need to pay $200 approx. Refunds are available through this ticketing system 7 days prior to training or in the case of illness, otherwise, refunds would only be considered under significant circumstances. Any registrant who does not attend and does not communicate with CYWC Staff will need to be invoiced for the full cost of the training.
Any questions (or to check if you're a member), email admin@cywc.org.nz
