This in-person 1-day workshop aims to give participants an overview of how to deliver Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) to groups.
What is Cognitive Stimulation Therapy?
CST is an evidence-based therapy for people with mild to moderate dementia.
CST sessions actively stimulate and engage people with dementia. They provide an optimal learning environment with the social benefits of a group. CST can be delivered by social support group and allied health staff.
This workshop covers:
✔️ What is Cognitive Stimulation Therapy
✔️ Psychosocial approaches for dementia care
✔️ CST evidence and guidelines
✔️ CST principles and the facilitator’s role
✔️ How to deliver CST
✔️ Getting started with your own CST group.
The workshop is interactive. There will be group discussions + role-play. Each participant receives a CST manual for group facilitators.
Lunch and refreshments included.
