This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Collage & Artist books are an expression of creativity through mixed media, combining textural layers; a place for treasures, mementos, drawings, meanderings, asemic writings, whatever you want to cherish. Create a concertina artist book concentrating on mark making on surfaces and using collage to tell a story and create multi layered pages of texture, imagery, and text understanding collage elements and layering. Alternatively, if participants prefer to concentrate on one or two wall pieces that is fine too. Participants will work with mark making implements such as inks, paint, pencils, printmaking, handmade brushes and collage to develop pages of a theme and their visual story. Using vintage papers, rust dyed papers, fabric, imagery, and a little bit of stitch their themed concertina book will emerge. Techniques explored will be collage, layering, texturing, stitch, mark making, simple printmaking, stencils, and while investigating a variety of possible concertina techniques to construct your book.
