COLLECT 2025: OPENING NIGHT

Join us at 5pm on Friday 6 May for the opening night of this year's iteration of COLLECT and COLLECT: FOCUS. ✨

COLLECT is The Lock-Up's annual fundraising exhibition, which proudly showcases over a hundred artists from Newcastle and the Hunter, as well as The Lock-Up's broader artistic program.

We're doing things differently this year! 

Due to high demand, we are running three one-hour viewing sessions on the night, to ensure everyone gets a chance to see their favourite artwork.

Sessions will run as:

5pm - 6pm

6pm - 7pm

7pm - 8pm

Curated by Early Career Curator Andrea Grljusic, COLLECT is a celebration of our diverse creative community⎯ it's our way of supporting and connecting with our local community of artists⎯ positioning early career through to established artists alongside our highly regarded artistic program, and introducing them to COLLECT-ors big and small. The Lock-Up is committed to presenting the best of contemporary art in Newcastle and beyond, and we hope to mirror this commitment in our selection of artists. 

COLLECT: Focus is returning this year, showcasing bodies of work from two local emerging artists. This year, Focus will emphasise multidisciplinary art forms, including performance art and experimental practices. Focus will be curated by Early Career Curator Malvika Satelkar.

All works will be available to purchase online and in the gallery on the night, with 40% of all sales facilitating The Lock-Up’s artistic program.
