    Event description

The first in our 8-part Collie Tech and Innovation Series masterclasses, Financial Resilience,  is on Thursday 20th May at Slay Space in Collie from 9.30am - 12.30pm.

This is an amazing opportunity for businesses in the Collie region to get insights and learnings from facilitator Simona Hughes, Founder and Managing Director of Financial Utilities, a modern accounting and business advisory firm, who has experience spanning two decades included working with KPMG, in the UK banking sector as well as private equity fund management throughout Europe.

Simona is currently a CFO (“Chief Financial Officer”) for many larger businesses in WA including Evari Insure, Dinnertwist, KPA Architects, Australian Dental Association (WA) Inc, the Fox Group and Facial Plastic Surgery Pty Ltd. In her role as CFO, Simona drives the businesses from a financial and operational perspective to ensure they maximise their opportunities, profit, cash and assets to create sustainable wealth for the business owners and shareholders. Simona is also a Director on the Board of Bendigo Bank (Busselton and Dunsborough branches), the Treasurer for the Dunsborough Yallingup Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of South West Angels.

Simona presented this masterclass for Innovation Cluster in 2020 and received amazing feedback:

    "fantastic, well delivered, honest..."

    "made financial interesting!"

    "So much energy and knowledge"

    "first class delivery"

    "fascinating and not dry"

"facilitator was awesome, it's great to hear insight from such an experienced business woman!"

"made some goals to structure things a little differently and focus more on working smart not as hard"

“Thank you for today! It was really informative. Simona was awesome, it's great to hear insight from such an experienced business woman! It has definitely made us stop...reassess and plan! We have already had a debrief after today's workshop and made some goals to structure things a little differently and focus more on working smart not as hard to free up my time more.”
