Colour Mastery Workshop with Michael Herron (2 day workshop)

This workshop explores creating, resolving and rescuing paintings using colour. By studying colour theory we can lay out colour as shades tones and tints and apply that to painting and understanding pictures. In the workshop using still life and landscape subjects we will explore colour theory and thinking, to paint vibrant and fresh works.

Subjects covered form the basis of painting and help us make more exciting.

1. Painting a gray scale and a colour scale painting
2. Painting a dark, a light and 2 colours
3. A gray scale, a colour scale and a complimentary counter poin
4. Monochromatic painting

Workshop dates: Saturday 2nd November + Sunday 3rd November
Workshop structure: Both days 10am-4pm

Saturday morning:

• Demonstrations
• Exercises still life
• Gray scale, colour scale compliment
• Limited palette dark light 2 colours

Saturday afternoon:

• Under painting and draw up colour
• Tints shades tones

Sunday morning:

• Colour mixing and still life observation

Sunday afternoon:

• Complimentary colour and landscape tones shades tints
