Inversions are a crucial part of the yoga asana curriculum. A simple web search will reveal all the gems that inverted time brings a human body. It’s nice to have one or two inversions to call on when the world itself has turned the wrong way up. (Handstands counter depression, for example. Shoulder stand is very calming and restorative. Headstand II brings courage. &c. &c. )
This workshop happens in two parts.
You can do the morning only ($50), or the whole day ($85).

Establishing Inversions (8.30am – 12.15pm)
If inversions have felt out of reach, this workshop session will
trouble-shoot problems, and seek to provide ongoing ways to integrate
inversions into your practice. Exploring good preparation, and relevant
strength and alignment to support inverted poses, we’ll work across all
the basic versions of the inversions repertoire (Headstand I & II;
Handstand; Pincha Mayurasana; Shoulder Stand….)
**This session will involve: sitting, breathing that supports inversions, inversions-relevant asana, relaxation. Please discuss any existing conditions with Antonia prior.
Inversions & their Variations (1.15pm – 4.30pm)
This session builds on the practice of the morning’s study. It welcomes
those with some established basic inversion know-how to develop further
with the sequences of variations in Sirsasana I, Sirsasana II (relevant
to Bakasanas), Sarvangasana.
**This session will involve sitting practice, conditioning work, some study, inverted asana practice, then savasana.
