About the class:

Join us for a casual crafternoon of creativity! Bringing together makers of all different experience levels and mediums, our goal is to create community, foster imagination, pass along skills, or just chill out for a bit. Follow the prompt / project of the day, or bring your own work in progress & supplies. Meetup is FREE with registration! Come take a deep breath, be inspired, and leave feeling a bit more connected.

  • Please help us keep classes like this one free. Supplies are purchased based on the number of people registered and space is limited. In consideration of this, please let us know if you cannot attend as soon as possible so we can open the space to someone who can.

October 2025 Project

Stitched Talismans

Talismans are handmade artifacts created to remind the bearer of their connection to something important. They span cultures and religions, and can be made for personal reasons, for a loved one’s memento, for recalling dreams – for any reason that is significant to the maker. Fabric takes on a power of its own as it is worked by hand, and when embellished by personal findings they can concentrate thoughts in a way that many find beneficial.

Shaerie will demonstrate basic hand sewing stitches, provide fabric, supplies and findings, and as always have many samples and books to look at. Feel free to bring small items and/or fabric of personal significance along with you! AS ALWAYS you are welcome to bring your own portable craft to work on. If you plan to participate in the monthly project, we ask for a small donation to cover materials costs!
