Event description

This 2-part seminar is for anyone who offers pastoral care.

Tuesday 2 September and Tuesday 9 September at 9.00am (1 hour each day)

Courtney Brown is an inspiring trainer with fresh perspectives to inspire your skills and confidence.

Compassionate Reflective Listening is a heart-centered communication practice that fosters deeper connection, mutual understanding, and healing through presence, empathy, and intentional response. It’s especially powerful in pastoral care, church leadership, therapeutic settings, and personal relationships where spiritual and emotional integrity are essential.

This approach centers on being fully present to another’s experience without judgment, agenda, or the need to fix—creating sacred space for people to feel truly heard and valued.

Spiritual & Relational Benefits

For pastors, therapists and people on pastoral care teams, Compassionate Reflective Listening becomes a sacred tool to:

  • Deepen trust and safety in spiritual and relational spaces

  • Reduce emotional reactivity and foster grace-filled connection

  • Embody the heart of Christ by offering nonjudgmental presence

  • Restore unity, peace, and spiritual alignment in difficult conversations

  • Enhance spiritual maturity by practicing listening as a ministry

Webinar Participant Outcomes

In the 2-part, 1-hour each webinar, participants will:

  • Learn and practice the 5-step Compassionate Reflective Listening process

  • Learn tools to stay grounded and present in emotionally charged situations

  • Experience the transformative power of being deeply heard and seen

  • Discover how to integrate this practice into pastoral care.

  • Gain renewed clarity, confidence, and compassion in how they communicate and support others

This training offers a spiritually nourishing and practical framework for building healing, grace-filled relationships.

Sincerely,

Courtney Brown

"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." James 1:19 (NIV)

This verse is a foundational call to listen first with humility and restraint, a hallmark of compassionate reflective listening. It invites us to prioritize understanding before reacting—a deeply spiritual posture of grace and patience.
