What We'll Do
6.30 pm - Learn - Home Cheesemaking Demonstration
Presented by Valerie Pearson, Green Living Australia
Have you ever wanted to make cheese?
In this practical demonstration, Valerie Pearson, author of Home Cheese Making in Australia, will teach how to make delicious cheese at home. This practical demonstration will cover the basics of yoghurt and cheese making. During the session, you will learn how to make your own mozzarella cheese using common kitchen equipment.
Taste
Everyone will also get to taste some dairy yoghurt, coconut yoghurt, mozzarella, quark, and feta.
Purchase
Valerie will bring some books, cheese kits, yoghurt makers, and cultures available for purchase for anyone interested. Payment will be by cash or card. Prices are available on the Green Living Australia website https://www.greenlivingaustralia.com.au.
About our Presenter
Valerie Pearson co-founded Green Living Australia an Australian-owned and operated company located south of Brisbane. The business evolved from a need to create homemade, preservative-free, additive-free foods, and chemical-free body products to combat the ever-increasing food allergy and chemical sensitivity within our society.
Green Living Australia provides pure cultures, equipment and education for conscious foodies to fill their dietary requirements and gourmet food cravings, and to make all-natural body products that are chemical-free and sustainable. The focus is to enable community members to produce their own artisan cheeses from chevre and cream fraiche to feta and camembert, and boutique lacto-ferments such as kimchi, sauerkraut, natural pickles, kefir and kombucha.
7.45 pm – Connect – Light Supper (provided) and Share Table
A light supper will be served (including Gluten Free and Vegan options).
Sharing of produce on the Share Table opens after the presentation to allow plenty of time for everyone to place their donations, and then give you the opportunity to browse, connect and make your selections during supper.
Share Table
