Connecting Kids with Birrarung's Creatures

Join Angela Foley from the Merri Creek Management Committee (MCMC) for a fun and interactive session celebrating the fascinating creatures that call the Birrarung home.

Through engaging storytelling, Angela will share the remarkable true stories behind some of the river's most iconic wildlife, including the elusive platypus, the incredible short-finned eel and other amazing aquatic species.

Then it's your turn to become part of the story! Choose your favourite Birrarung creature and have it beautifully painted on your hand while learning more about its unique lifestyle and life cycle.

Perfect for children and families, this playful session encourages curiosity, creativity and a deeper appreciation for the wonderful wildlife that lives in and around the Birrarung.

Come along to listen, learn and wear your favourite river creature with pride!

IMPORTANT – Finding the Koori Revegetation Garden

The Koori Revegetation Garden is located near Dights Falls, at the confluence of Merri Creek and the Birrarung (Yarra River).

From the Dights Falls car park on Trenerry Crescent, Abbotsford, follow the paved path downhill towards Dights Falls. Continue towards Merri Creek and cross the footbridge. The Koori Garden will be on your right.

Please allow a little extra time to find the meeting point before the event begins.

• Most Riverfest events are free, and many have limited places with long waitlists. Please only book if you're confident you can attend, so others don't miss out. Bookings are limited to 2 tickets for smaller events and 4 tickets for larger events.
  

• Can't make it? Please cancel your ticket by opening your Humanitix confirmation email and selecting 'Manage Order'. Your place will then be released to someone on the waitlist. If you need assistance, contact us by email: riverfest@yarrariver.org.au
  

• Events will proceed unless severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances require a change. If this happens, registered participants will be notified by email.
