Conscious Movement term three 2025
Event description
CONSCIOUS MOVEMENT is eight weeks together in a process of unfolding deep into our body's wisdom in search of authentic expression, honest connection & community belonging. There is a magic we create together when we come together bringing all of ourselves.
This group is suitable for participants who are able to self-regulate and manage any triggering that may arise. It is a space where you may practice opening to your vulnerabilities if you wish to. Sessions are trauma-informed and there is always choice about how much or little you engage. This course will weave embodied wisdom with evidence-based practices drawing from mindfulness meditation, nervous system education, therapeutic movement practices, creative arts practices, somatic movement, conscious dance, somatic therapy. Previous participants return time and time again, and each round we have some fresh new faces.
Each class begins with arrival practices to ground and support you to come into presence, followed by guided partner, solo and group work, and we complete with reflection or sharing. Journalling, drawing and dialogue are part of the course and are interwoven with the movement/dance work.
This course welcomes all regardless of movement/dance experience, just bring your sense of courage, curiosity & authenticity. Lead by Movement/Dance Facilitator & Somatic Therapy Practitioner, Miriam Marler.
