CONTEMPORARY DANCE FUSION COURSE Thursdays 5:30pm Dates and details below
Through this course you will learn about 8 principles that apply to most contemporary dance approaches. Many of these principles are first seen in the work of the early modern dance pioneers, such as Martha Graham, Isadora Duncan and José Limón.
Over the 4 week block you will learn a short Contemporary Dance Routine. Each week we will add onto the previous weeks choreography to end with a final piece.
We will focus on
1. Use of Breath and body awareness
2. Opposition
3. Contraction and release
4. Spiral
5. Fall and Recovery
6. Suspension and momentum
7. Use of parallel and turnout
8. Use of space
*Performance opportunities may arise however you are not obligated to perform and can simply attend and enjoy the classes.
Course 1 - April 18 & April 25 + May 2 & May 9 (4 weeks) $85.
Course 2- May 23 & May 30 + June 6 & June13 (4 weeks) $85
