Event description

Join this friendly, inclusive workshop with printmaker Sheena Mathieson and eco-artist Craig Burgess to explore our connections with the plants surrounding Burrinja Cultural Centre in Upwey.

Experiment with an ecological, playful approach to drawing and printmaking in a supportive space.

  • No experience necessary – just bring your curiosity!

This workshop is part of Burrinja: In the Making – an exciting new program of artist-run workshops and classes designed to ignite creative energy, support artistic development, and connect community through hands-on art making.

About the facilitators:

Sheena Mathieson (she/her) is passionate in her belief that we are all creative individuals with different strengths, all capable of making beautiful and meaningful art given the right opportunities. She facilitates fun activities where participants are encouraged to create, share, learn new techniques and explore possibilities. sheenamathieson.com

Craig Burgess (he/him) has hosted Draw Plants Together drawing workshops since 2023 as a way to contribute his skills and experience across creativity and learning in the space of ecological care and well-being. Craig also works at VINC Nursery, a not-for-profit nursery growing local plants for ecological restoration and habitat gardening activities. drawplantstogether.com
