Copperline, Duncan Phillips and Justine Wahlin
Event description
On the back of the release of his sophomore record, Home on a Saturday Night, earlier this year Duncan Phillips is bringing his authentic brand of Americana and Heartland Rock to (Petersham Bowling Club) this October. The Scottish-born, Melbourne-based songsmith has carved out a reputation in recent years for his honest story-telling and dynamic live performances. Having shared bills with the likes of both Steve and Justin Townes Earle, he’s at home – and more than holds his own – amongst Americana royalty.
Since releasing their debut record Rusty Fords and Weatherboards back in 2018, Copperline have established themselves in the hearts and minds of Sydney’s Americana scene though their heartfelt storytelling and rollicking live shows. In the process, they’ve earned themselves slots at some of the country’s biggest festivals, including Tamworth, several award nominations and been played on radio stations across the country.
Justine has emerged a songwriter and performer with a lot to offer among the poets and misfits. Her live shows have been described as “mesmerising” Karl Broadie and “Like listening to an old record, only live” Zvonko Jovicic. Her most recent album released in 2019 “A Pair of Dreamers” recorded at Red Shelf Records is a delicately and beautifully crafted work gently weaving its way around people’s hearts and fast becoming a favourite for those who have been lucky enough to hear it. “A Lovely Record” William Bowden (William Bowden Mastering) “Do yourself a Favour” Paul Gough (RN, 2ser, ABC Radio, PimPod).
Don’t miss your chance to see these three musical powerhouses together in one evening of song.
