Join me on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 as we take a stand against DFV in our Bayside!

May is Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Awareness month, where we send a clear message: that DFV in families and homes will never be tolerated. This year, our Bayside DV Candlelight Vigil will be on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 from 5:30pm – 6:15pm at Pandanus Beach, Wynnum.

I encourage Baysiders of all ages to attend and to have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers and survivors of DFV as together, we gather by the light of hundreds of candles.

Hi, I'm Joan Pease MP.

The State Member for Lytton.

"I am deeply passionate about Standing up for the Bayside."

I have lived in Lytton for over thirty years with my husband and our two children.

While raising my family, I was a committed volunteer, actively involved in Nursing Mothers, the Wynnum BUGS Rugby Club, Bulimba Hockey and various local schools and kindergartens.

At the same time, I built a career in Adult Education in both the corporate and community sector and also ran a small business in the heart of my electorate.

Through my strong community focus and previous experience, I recognise the interconnectedness of social and political life. I am a keen supporter of local groups as they work hard to bring people together in the community.

I am currently the patron of the Wynnum Manly Historical Association, the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club, the Bayside Woodturners and Woodcrafters Club, the Wynnum Choral Society and the Bayside Eastern District Orchid Society.

I am deeply passionate about advocating for the Bayside. Improving health services, protecting the environment and establishing support for victims of domestic violence are issues close to my heart.

My passion for shaping policy that promotes access and equity is further demonstrated through my appointment to the Health and Environment Committee.

My commitment and capacity is recognised by my Government, evidenced by my current appointment as the Senior Government Whip.

I am passionate about equality of opportunity for all and see the policy-making process of as a vehicle for the progressive advancement of our nation.
