Event description

Beekeeping has certainly changed in the last few years with the discovery of the varroa mite.

This workshop is for those interested in starting a partnership with the honeybees, for those who already work with the honeybees and are looking for alternatives to treating with chemicals and want to develop better understanding and connection with their bees.

Ralph Roessner has put it this way

“Human beings have, for the most part, forgotten the spiritual mission of the genius of the bees in our time. Therefore the varroa mite had to appear in order for us to awaken. A new kind of of love, a new connective consciousness is now developing.”

This workshop will cover

Honey bees in general.

How they live in the wild and how we can mimic this in man made hives for the best health possible.

The medicine of the bees.

How humans can work alongside them for their benefit.

The nasty truths of conventional beekeeping that liken it to factory farming.

How to communicate with the bees.

We won’t be covering Practical hive inspections or working with live bees at this workshop, however there will be opportunities to come and meet the bees at a later date. But hive openings are quite detrimental to the honey bees, especially while they are learning to manage their hives with the varroa mite that has infested most of this state.

Please bring a pen and notebook. There will be snacks and tea available.

I can’t wait to talk bees with you all.
