Blacktown City Networking (BBN) - Building Better Business Relationships

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Welcome to the Blacktown business network that builds better relationships.

With the support of Workers Blacktown, we begin March by tackling one of the most debilitating diseases affecting business owners - and you may not know that you have it!

We also explain what government assistance programs are available to help small business owners, including start-up businesses; explain Facebook's move into charging subscriptions; and preview the LAMNG free 2023 Knowledge Programs. Additionally, we explain the etiquette behind business collaborations. There is a right way and a wrong way you need to know about.

Our relationship-building networking continues as we welcome new members into our group.

AGENDA (Room change: please note - this meeting has been moved to the club's Ballroom)

BUSINESS INSIGHT
MONEY, TRAINING & SUPPORT TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES

There's lots of government support available to NSW small business owners if you know where. This INSIGHT will tell you about the options that won't cost you anything but could make a huge difference to your success. These include self-employment assistance programs for new and micro business owners, mentoring to help you on your way, business basics training and more.

BUSINESS INSIGHT
BUSINESS NETWORKING COLLABORATIONS
Dictionaries define 'collaboration' as 'The process of two or more people, entities or organizations working together to complete a task or achieve a goal.'  In business networking, this is an essential component of growing your business and client base. In practice, there is an etiquette for successful collaborations that is often unknown or overlooked.

This INSIGHT is designed to guide you through the etiquette and help you to become the collaborator people will seek out.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION WHY BLACKTOWN BUSINESS OWNERS FACE CHRONIC DISEASE RISK
Business worries, staffing concerns, pandemic hangovers, multi-tasking, rent issues, increasing utility costs, cash-flow management plus the misguided self-belief that they cannot (or mustn’t) get sick. These are among the reasons why the Blacktown Local Government Area is NSW's top 'hotspot' for an epidemic of adult diabetes. Self-employed business owners face a particular challenge with their self-care often not being a priority.

Workers Lifestyle Group has launched a $500,000 project, Western Sydney Changing Diabetes, to tackle this growing epidemic. Its Project partner is Western Sydney Diabetes. This presentation will explain the diabetes risks and symptoms to our members. They have free access to use the new state-of-the-art SiSU Health-check stations installed at Workers Blacktown and Workers Sports clubs to check their health status.

OUR MEETINGS

All attendees have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses. Depending on numbers, introductions are between 30-60 seconds - so it would be a good idea to make a note of the key points you want to make!

You get to meet like-minded people, exchange ideas, learn, socialise, collaborate, gain knowledge, form new relationships, get fresh business ideas and tips and, of course, expand your introduction-based business network.

Whether your business is shop, office, industry, home based or in a shared space, you will meet motivated owners and entrepreneurs to share your passion and grow your business with.

WHAT WE DO
Our online and face-to-face meetings are identical for all groups. They begin with:
1. Opening welcome.

(Nervous about presenting? Don't worry - we will coach you through it.)
