3.Hydrostone Workshop with Meana
Description
💎 HYDROSTONE JEWELLERY & TRINKET BOX WORKSHOP
Welcome to a fantastic, hands-on casting masterclass! Today, we are crafting beautiful, custom-designed jewellery pieces alongside a matching miniature trinket box.
We will be working with Hydrostone—a premium, gypsum-based casting powder mixed with water. While it has the same smooth, pourable consistency as traditional Plaster of Paris, it features an advanced resin compound. This makes the final product exceptionally hard, heavy, and far more durable than ordinary plaster.
· Duration: 3 hours (1:45 PM – 5:00 PM)
· Skill Level: Completely beginner-friendly! No prior casting experience required.
🎨 What You Will Learn & Create
During this workshop, you will be guided step-by-step through the industrial casting process:
Precision Measuring: How to accurately measure out your Hydrostone powder and water ratios using electronic studio scales.
Mixing & Agitation: How to thoroughly blend the mixture to a smooth, syrupy consistency and tap the cups to successfully force out trapped air bubbles. The Pour: How to steadily pour the mixture into our professional silicone moulds. You will have full access to earring moulds, pendant moulds, and matching trinket box moulds.
Setting Time: While the Hydrostone rapidly sets in its moulds, we will plan out our design concepts.
✨ Custom Decorating & Finishing Practice for Part B
Once your cast pieces are set and unmoulded, the real styling fun begins! You will learn how to personalise your jewellery and trinket boxes using a huge range of mediums on blanks provided. However these are pratice blanks and need to stay in the studio
Paints & Pigments: Add beautiful depth, vibrant washes, or marbled colour effects using various specialty paints.Surface Art: Decorate your dry pieces instantly with premium UVDTF (UV Direct-to-Film) stickers, intricate temporary tattoos, and fine-line acrylic paint pens.
