Kick off your shoes and rediscover the ground beneath them

Your feet are the foundation for every step you take in life, yet their often the most undertrained part of the body. In this 2-hour hands-on workshop, we'll explore how your feet, senses and balance all coordinate together, and how a little work and play can go along way in building strong and stable movement.

Already made the switch to barefoot shoes?

Great to hear! This workshop is the next step, guiding you in how to truly "support" your feet with the right tools, exercises and simple daily practices.

Your hosts

Facilitated by Nathan, Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Certified Guide with The Foot Collective. Nathan brings his years of experience running TFC events, movement workshops and balance classes across Australia and the UK. Joined by Martina, the founder of Ozbarefoot, together they will share their wealth of knowledge and passion for natural movement and barefoot shoes.

After the workshop

Stick around for a relaxed half-hour Q&A to ask any questions about the workshop content and where to progress from here. Martina will also open the Ozbarefoot store across the hall for an hour if you'd like to try on or purchase any barefoot shoes: there will be a special discount for workshop participants.

Australia and UK events

What we'll explore in the workshop

  1. Your starting point: A simple foot and balance assessment to find your baseline and the right training difficulty.

  2. Circulation & sensation: learn how blood flow and sensory feedback shape your balance, take home a 10-minute routine for both.

  3. Feet & footwear: Complete simple exercises to strengthen your feet, and build competence in understanding which footwear is best for you or your loved ones.

  4. Challenge your balance: learn how our modern environment does not support our balance, experience ways in which you can confidently build strength and stability from the ground up.

  5. The power of play: Games and challenges that get you laughing, connecting and learning. Play helps your brain adapt and makes it easier to keep coming back for more.

Let's start training balance today. Enjoy the fun, stability and confidence it brings for the rest of your life!
