Nyoongar Language is at the heart of this ancient culture. Join us for storytelling, songs and bush science.
A series of hands-on workshops, to learn about and celebrate the rich history, knowledge and proud voices that exist within Vic Park's First Nations communities.
Each session will explore a key aspect of Indigenous culture - STORYTELLING and SCIENCE from moorditj community leader: Dylan Collard (Kalyakoorl). Dylan is passionate about ensuring Noongar language continues for ever (Kalyakkoorl)
All events are FREE and family friendly! Everyone who wants to listen, learn and connect to this beautiful, strong and wise culture and people is welcome.

Event 1: Thursday 11th September - Storytelling and Nyoongar Language 4:00 to 5:30.
Step into the world of Nyoongar stories, songs, and words in this special session for children and parents. Discover the beauty of Nyoongar language through traditional storytelling and learn how stories connect people, Country, and culture. This one-off workshop is perfect for families curious to explore language together in a fun and welcoming space.
Event 2: Thursday 25th September - Science and Nyoongar Language 4:00 to 5:30.
Join us for a hands-on Nyoongar science workshop where culture meets curiosity. Learn about Nyoongar knowledge systems, develop understanding of Noongar uses of plants and animals to create tools and pick up Nyoongar words along the way. This interactive session will spark wonder in both kids and adults while showing how science and culture walk side by side on Country.
