Safe Church Awareness Workshop Caulfield
Event description
Be trained and equipped to ensure your church or agency is a Safe Place for everyone. CCVT recommends that all leaders and volunteers including pastors, board members, elders, deacons, leadership teams, ministry leaders, pastoral carers and those working with children, youth, or vulnerable adults attend a Safe Church Awareness Workshop as a pre-requisite to ministry in the local church.
👤Presented by Viliamu Leuga & Luai Leuga
The Safe Church Program was founded on a commitment to protecting the safety of all people within its programs, ministries and events, and supporting churches and agencies to adhere to best practice and safety legislation.
Topics include:
- Foundations and principles of a safe church
- Protecting vulnerable people—definitions, indicators, and response procedures
- Information about training, recruiting, and supervising safe leaders
- How to establish and run safe environments for church ministry programs
Safe Church Awareness Workshops are facilitated by trained presenters, hosted by local churches, and attendance is recognised by CCVT for all leaders and requirement towards Pastoral Accreditation.
Please note: This workshop involves discussion and definitions of different types of abuse. The topic of abuse is a confronting issue. CCVT advises that whilst Safe Church Awareness Workshops strive to present information in a respectful and sensitive manner, some components may be disturbing. If concerned, please discuss the situation with your pastor or contact the event organiser before attending.
This workshop is not suitable for persons under 15 years of age.
