Hon Kate Jones MP
In October Kate retired from the Queensland Parliament at the age of 41 one of the most popular and universally respected figures in Australian politics.
First winning her seat in Parliament as a 27 year old. Kate lost her seat, and then won it back again, famously unseating then-Queensland Premier, Campbell Newman.
For the last five-years Kate has served as the Queensland Minister for Tourism & Events, as well as Minister responsible for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Kate has retired from politics to raise her young children, and as quickly taken on senior roles, including being named the youngest ever Commissioner of the Australian National Rugby League.
Kate will share her experiences as a young woman breaking barriers in politics in politics and tourism, and choosing
Kim Seagram AM
The undisputed first lady of Tasmanian hospitality, Kim Seagram has been trailblazer for Tasmanian women in tourism for nearly 30-years.
As an award-winning restauranter, developer, board director and tourism advocate, Kim has paved the way for a generation of female and male Tasmanian tourism and hospitality professionals and entrepreneurs.
With Kim and husband, Rod, having recently ‘retired’ from the restaurant game, Kim will share some of her her insights as a woman in Tasmanian tourism who has always ‘chosen to challenge’ the status quo of what’s possible in Tasmania.
