FROM THE ARTIST

"Emma has studied and practised ballet since she was a girl and has developed a class that is meditative, safe, sustainable and feels good. In this workshop, Emma passes on her knowledge and love for ballet practice to help experienced movers discover/re-discover this technique for their own unique bodies. Emma focuses on breadth and opposition of movement through the body and where to place attention and intention – so that every gesture becomes expressive and meaningful.

Emma starts by aligning the body in the centre. At the barre, we focus on safely training joint articulation and dynamics through each exercise. In the centre, the practice expands into more dancing sequences that encourage playful weight shifts, turns, rhythms, balances, and jumps. The class builds toward a joyful conclusion, where movement feels harmonious, free, and personally connected."
