Crochet: Make a Chunky Octo Plushie with Feng Ye

Ever attended a craft market and exclaimed, 'How cute are these crochet plushies!' Or scrolled through Instagram or TikTok thinking, 'I wish I could make one myself?' Maybe you’ve bought a crochet kit but felt discouraged because it all seemed so hard.
Wait no longer, this beginner-friendly chunky crochet plush class is for you!
We will be using easy-to-work-with chunky yarn and large 6mm crochet hooks, so you can see the stitches coming together as you go. You can pick your favourite yarn colour to make your very own chunky octopus!
All the materials will be provided - just come and have a cute time!
What will we cover?
- How to hold your crochet hook and how to tie a slip knot
- Basic crochet stitches: chain stitch (ch), single crochet (sc), and slip stitch (sl st)
- How to crochet in rounds, count the number of stitches in each round, and increase and decrease stitches
- How to follow a crochet pattern
This class is suitable for absolute beginners or anyone returning to crocheting wanting a refresher.

Who will be Teaching?
Feng Ye (she/her) is a self-taught crochet artist who discovered her passion for the craft during the Covid lockdowns. With a background as a full-time nurse, she found crochet to be a therapeutic outlet and a creative way to unwind. Now, she’s eager to share her love for crochet with others!
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, Feng Ye offers clear, step-by-step instructions that make learning accessible and enjoyable. Her patient and supportive teaching style helps students build confidence, creativity, and the joy of making beautiful, handmade pieces.
