Demonstrating the Art of Making French Croissants
Event description
Please join us for a two (2) hour class demonstration to witness how to make authentic French croissants from scratch. Guests are welcome to bring their own adult beverages.
Alain Marec, your instructor, is a French born food scientist and home baker who will show you how to create a wonderful batch of French croissants and pains au chocolat.
During the event, you will witness the process of making croissants and pains au chocolat and all the steps in the process including: making the détrempe (dough), preparing the beurre de tourrage (butter layer), laminating the dough and butter (simple and double folds) and finally shaping and baking croissants/pains au chocolat.
During the two (2) hour demo class, each guest will receive:
- A general to technical explanation of French pastry (based on guests interest) including - selection of ingredients, lamination process, importance of time and temperature, principles of fermentation, baker's math, etc...
- A gift box with 1 croissant and 1 pain au chocolat baked for you just before the class.
- A demonstration by the instructor of all the steps of croissant making.
- Questions & Answers with instructor throughout the class.
- Guests are welcome to bring their own adult beverages to consume during the event (BYOB).
