CRU Video and Project Launch: Presence, Contribution and Building Community Connectedness

About the event: 

We're launching four new video stories from the regions, showcasing our new community innovation project, and previewing a new digital resource about belonging.

For almost 40 years, CRU has worked for full inclusive lives for people with disability so they can belong and contribute to their communities. Inclusive communities do not just happen - inclusion is built through a commitment to relationships and ensuring the gifts and contributions are valued and recognised.

Register from 5.15pm for a 5.30pm start, to launch three important pieces of work by CRU:

• A newly funded Community Innovation Project: From Presence to Belonging

• A video series featuring powerful stories of inclusion from the regions featuring Dan, Violet, Daisy and Steve.

• Previewing a digital resource which will capture practice wisdom on how paid supporters can assist people to be known and valued in their community.

We invite CRU friends and allies to join us in an inspiring event to celebrate all that is possible when communities welcome all. Join us for conversation and refreshments, see snippets of the video stories and hear briefly from those featured.

Light refreshments will be provided. Cash bar available.

Cost to attend:

CRU video and project launch: $20

Every person who attends needs to register.

Due to venue and catering costs, CRU is not able to fully participate in the companion card scheme, however, if a worker needs to attend to provide support for an attendee with disability and the cost is a barrier, please contact CRU.

The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing for support for the Inclusive Councils, Inclusive Communities project which developed the four video stories from regional Queensland;

A Peer Support and Capacity Building (PSCB) grant for the NDIS, for support to develop the digital resource on building belonging and finding people to be there; and

The Queensland Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety for our new Community Innovation Program project, From Presence to Contribution: Building Community Connectedness.
