Cupping and Gua Sha Therapy

During this one day practical workshop we will explore the theory of Cupping and Gua Sha therapy including an understanding of the physiological effects on the body from an Eastern and Western medical perspective. Common indications and regions to be treated will be discussed along with common cautions and contraindications including considerations of consent and remnant markings from treatment. Application techniques will be described along with tips for safe, comfortable and effective application including aspects of dosage. Chinese liniments will be presented including the fundamental differences in indications to best enhance the recovery of your clients with specific prescribed application. There will be demonstration of the application of Gua Sha and glass fire cupping (both fixed and sliding).
