Matariki 2025: Guest Curator Kōrero with Terehia Walker
Event description
Join Terehia Walker for the Guest Curator Kōrero
'Kia ora koutou, As we celebrate Matariki, I am reminded of the intricate connections between threads, just like the stars in our cluster. Weaving is more than just a craft; it’s a way of storytelling, of passing down traditions and histories.
Our ancestors wove more than just garments; they wove narratives, identities and whakapapa. This Matariki, lets honor the art of weaving and the stories it holds. Lets weave new tales, strengthen old bonds and celebrate the beauty of our heritage. ‘Nau Mai’, Haere mai ka whiria te taura tangata- welcome and lets weave together the strands of humanity.'
