Presenter: Karen Fagan, MPH

Description: This session will provide an overview of recent data related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and discuss the American public’s current perspectives related to caregiving and treatment.  We will explore the importance of maintaining brain health throughout our adult lives and the benefits of early detection, which can lead to improved health outcomes.  We will also examine the challenges faced by individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.  Finally, we will explore trends within the healthcare system to enhance care management and support.

  • Analyze the current public perspective related to Alzheimer’s disease and treatment.

  • Evaluate how principles of healthy living can positively influence health outcomes.

  • Assess recent changes by health systems in the delivery of care for persons impacted by dementia.
