Cutting T-Shirt Yarn & making pet toys-SAFETY BAY
Event description
Come and join the Repurposing revelution! Connect with like minded people and have fun while turning your your unwanted t-shirts into yarn then create 4 different types of pet toys! They not only get your pet thinking, they are also friendly on the environment.
You will learn:-
- How to use the whole t-shirt to make yarn and reduce waste
- 4 different ways to join ends or change colours
- The right t-shirt to choose to get the maximum yarn from it and lots more!
It doesn't stop there, discover all the uses of this fabulous craft, from dog toys to rugs & baskets and everything else in between. You'll be taking home your fabulous ball of yarn and informative instruction booklet so you can inspire others and start creating at home.
Bring at least 2 simple t-shirts that don't have any of the following please. Bringing multiple t-shirts allows you to have some fun and use different colours/prints together.
- rubber pictures or writing on the front or back
- side splits or pockets
- embellishments
Don't worry, there will be some extras on the day.
Provided are:-
- Scissors, pins, markers
- Spare pillowcases, quilt cover, sheets just in case you forget yours!
- Light snacks, tea, coffee etc
NOTE
- As this workshop focuses on recylcing, repurposing and repairing, please bring items from home or purchased from your local charity shop and not bought new
- Ideally your t-shirt should be 100% cotton, printed or plain with NO embelishments and NO frills etc
