Your 'Brand' Marketing Won't Build Your Business - These 8 Things Will
Brand marketing is a rich company's game and most small businesses are playing it anyway, burning budget on vague awareness plays instead of messages that sell. This presentation cuts through the noise: why pure brand marketing fails small businesses, and the 8 non-negotiable elements every marketing message needs to actually drive revenue.
Key Learnings:
✳️ Brand marketing is a luxury for companies with deep pockets and years to burn — small businesses need messages that convert now, not "awareness" that pays off someday (if ever).
✳️ A marketing message isn't complete just because it's on-brand; it needs specific, structural elements working together, or it's just noise competing for attention.
✳️ Master the 8 elements and every future campaign, ad, or pitch gets built on a formula that sells — instead of reinventing your messaging from scratch each time.
About the Speaker
After a 20-year career in television production, Greg Milner left a highly paid job to become a ‘consultant’. He set up an office at home, made sure he had a nice desk and comfy chairs for visiting clients, and waited for the phone to ring. And waited. And waited.
The phone remained stubbornly silent. Rapidly, Greg was going broke. He knew he was ‘good at what he did’, but he had no idea how to market his services. He had to do something, fast. So he began studying the work of some of the world’s greatest marketers, like Dan Kennedy, John Carlton, Gary Halbert and more. He was hooked.
With his new-found skills, the work soon started coming in; copywriting jobs and consulting work for accounting firms, engineers, manufacturers, medical professionals and a dozen other types of small to medium businesses. But he was still missing something, a narrow but deep and rich ‘niche’ market that he could mine for years to come.
Greg’s partner at the time was the owner of a small beauty salon. She asked him to help with her marketing. He wrote some ads for her, and overnight, her business took off. In late 2003, Greg sat down and wrote a marketing ‘toolkit’ for hair & beauty salons. Over the next few years, that toolkit brought in more than $10 million in sales, in Australia and overseas.
Today, thanks to technology, Greg can work from home or anywhere else, showing other business owners how to streamline their own marketing to find more clients, get them buying more often, and turn ordinary businesses into extraordinary businesses.
You’ll also have the chance to meet the powerhouse mentors leading the Business Maximiser Event.
