DANCE CREATE EVOLVE 2023

Our special guest for 2023 is Amanda Pooley Brand of APB Dance in Melbourne.  A student of the Salimpour School of Belly Dance, Amanda is a highly trained, versatile and engaging performer and teacher.  She was recently invited to travel to the USA to perform in Bal Anat, the longest-running concert-length belly dance show in the world, and was part of the committee that ran the inaugural Australian Belly Dance Convention.  Amanda will be teaching a full-day workshop as well as being our star performer for An Evening of Dance.

WORKSHOP INTENSIVE

Dance Create Evolve with Amanda Pooley Brand.  Amanda will take you through a journey of dance in which you will improve your technique, deepen your musicality and learn a new choreography that you can make your own.  This workshop intensive will commence with a dance circle incorporating a variety of dance movements and techniques.  After a shared lunch, Amanda will expand your knowledge of Middle Eastern music.  In the afternoon, you will learn a fun choreography that allows you to explore your new level of understanding of Middle Eastern dance and music.  The workshop will be accessible to students with all levels of dance experience, providing something for everyone from the novice to the experienced dancer.  Lunch and afternoon tea are included.  10.30am to 4.30pm.

AN EVENING OF DANCE

Amanda Pooley Brand is our special guest for an evening of performances and social dancing.  You will be entertained by world-class dancers and troupes as well as student groups such as Glen Innes' own Shimmy in the Glen.  There will be ample opportunity for you to try out your own moves on the dance floor too.  A sweet treat will be included and drinks will be available at club prices from the bar.  Doors open at 7.30pm for show start at 8.00pm.

MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT - WELCOME AND FAREWELL EVENTS

For those travelling from out of town, we have two additional events to make your weekend complete and to give you a taste of our New England hospitality.

WELCOME EVENT - On Friday evening, 27 October, join us at the award-winning Glen Gowrie Distillery on the outskirts of Glen Innes for a delicious three-course meal, a drink and some entertainment.  Cost is $50 per person and includes your meal and first drink from the bar.  Payment is to the venue on the night but bookings are essential.  Event commences at 6pm.  You will be asked if you wish to book a place when you purchase your tickets for the Workshop Intensive and / or An Evening of Dance.

FAREWELL EVENT - On Sunday morning, 29 October, join us at The Croft Celtic Cultural Centre and Cafe for a chat and to fuel up for your journey home.  Located at the Australian Standing Stones, this cafe has a range of food and drink including some with a Celtic flavour.  Grab a coffee and muffin or build your own Celtic fry-up breakfast.  The Croft opens at 8.00am.  You will be asked during the checkout process if you would like to reserve a seat for breakfast.  Booking are not essential but are helpful.
