DANCEmandala: Embodied Movement & Seasonal Journey
Description
DANCEmandala in Ballina is taking a little break for now. Thank you for being part of the journey so far.
DANCEmandala: Embodied Movement & Seasonal Journey 🌿
(Freeform Dance Meditation for Wellbeing)
DANCEmandala is a soul-stirring, heart-expanding embodied movement journey guided through music, rhythm and presence. Each gathering offers a safe and nurturing space to reconnect with your body, release emotional tension, open the heart and awaken a deeper sense of clarity and aliveness.
Rather than a single class, DANCEmandala is held within an ongoing Seasonal Journey that gently moves through the natural inner cycles of:
Grounding → Release → Renewal → Radiance
Each phase mirrors the pathway we travel in the dance — arriving in the body, clearing stored emotion, softening through the heart and expanding into spirit and bliss. While every session has its own unique theme and intuitively curated playlist, the experience builds over time for those who return regularly, creating a powerful unfolding journey of self-connection and transformation.
Through movement, breath and sound you’ll be supported to:
• Calm and reset the nervous system
• Release stress, emotion and tension from the body
• Deepen body awareness and inner listening
• Open the heart and reconnect with your authentic self
• Experience stillness, integration and renewed energy
• Move in a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental community
There are no steps to follow and no dance experience required — just permission to move in your own way and meet yourself exactly where you are.

FAQs
- Do I need to be a dancer?
Not at all. DANCEmandala is about moving intuitively, not performing or getting steps right. You are guided to listen to your body and move in whatever way feels natural for you.
- What actually happens in a session?
Each gathering follows a gentle body–music wave that moves through grounding, rhythm, release, emotional expression and stillness. Some parts are slow and inward, others more energising and freeing. You are always invited to go at your own pace.
- Is it like ecstatic dance?
DANCEmandala is more gently guided and intentionally structured than typical ecstatic dance. It blends somatic awareness, meditation and freeform movement in a safe and nurturing space.
- I feel self-conscious… will it feel awkward?
This is one of the most common feelings before a first session. The space is warm, welcoming and completely non-judgemental. There is no pressure to move in any particular way, and many people quickly find they relax once the music begins.
- Is DANCEmandala gentle or intense?
It flows through both. The journey begins grounded and supported, gradually building into deeper movement and release before returning to stillness. Everything is guided with care so you can choose your own level.
- What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move freely in. Layers are helpful as the body warms during the dance. Most people dance barefoot.
- What are the benefits of coming regularly?
People often notice reduced stress, emotional clarity, improved body awareness, deeper self-connection and a sense of belonging. Over time it becomes a powerful ongoing journey of renewal and wellbeing.
- Is it spiritual?
DANCEmandala has a soulful and heart-centred feel, but it is not tied to any belief system. You are simply invited to connect with yourself through movement and presence.
- Can beginners come at any time?
Yes. Every session is open and welcoming, and you can join at any point in the Seasonal Journey.
- Is there a newcomer rate?
Yes — your first dance is offered at a Welcome Rate of $15 so you can experience the space gently and comfortably.
- Is the group large?
DANCEmandala is intentionally held in a smaller, heart-centred setting so everyone feels safe, seen and supported. The intimate size allows for a deeper, more connected experience rather than a busy or overwhelming environment.
