Dancestors Cacao Ecstatic Dance: The Web

Dancestors is an ode to our Ancestors, our relatives, who share this world with us.

At this time of chaos, transition, fear, and the breaking apart of the imposed structures of a colonial world, coming together in power and unity is more important than ever. This month, we explore our connection to all parts of life in the weaving of the web. There are tendrils within each of our lineages which have pushed us apart, and the narrative at large continues to feed these voices that spread us thin rather than knitting us in. Here we choose to hold the hard truths as well as the celebratory highs. What does it mean to be welcomed back together again and again despite the perspectives and challenges that we face. How can we hold the lowest common demoninator as sacred to the process of evolution? 

The delicious and potent cacao will be a preparation of " Chuncho Variety" Prophecy Cacao prepared and sold by Matteo Del Campo who has a deep relationship with the traditional cacao farmers in the sacred valleys of the Peruvian jungle. The creamy cacao will be mixed with a powerful combination of herbs which are seasonally appropriate and designed to activate, heal and open us.

The DJed mix (by DJ Father Otter) will be a foray into inspirational music from around the world that invokes connection to unfamiliar, dormant, or alienated parts of the self, to bring us into emotional, physical, and spiritual coherence. Dancing in cohesion with our Ancestors and the self can invoke powerful release and transformation.We will take time to pray, meditate, and sing together with the spirit of cacao and Kaitlyn, James, and Nash. Then we move into a building dance journey. After getting into the dance trance , the journey will culminate with a powerful live drumming session, leading us upward, and outward, cultivating a poignant intentional vibration together.A lilting energizing story songscape by Nash Atkins, James Bird, and community will wrap you in its warm embrace to close the journey of this chapter.

Prepare to be opened, interwoven, and healed through this night of powerful rejuvenation.

An incredibly curated seasonal altar prepared by Kaitlyn Cronin will be offered to sit with during the dance. 

The studio lighting is gorgeous and gives a highlighted and glow-in-the-dark journey. Aerial hammocks silks are available for a whole new floating glowing rhythmic experience.

Please remove pointy or sharp zippers, sequins, jewelry etc. from your body and clothing before entering the silks. 

We require a waiver to be in the silks for the liability of the studio.

Don't forget to bring your drums for the post dance drumming!
