Event description

Oh Fairest Fae, Dearest Druids, Beautiful Bards, Opulent Ovates and all who dwell between! Our cellular structures actively holds 14 generations of wisdom, pain, joy, and love. In the space of Dancestors, we make room for all these lifetimes to join us in the space and dance together in a network of communal experience. We need more spaces in our lives where we can genuinely connect in with these histories we hold, to find our magic and understand who we are in all the complexity.

In this season of unfurling Spring time and beckoning Summer, we open a ritual space of live music, live drumming, and a DJ journey by Father Otter (Nash Atkins). Come join James Bird, Nash Atkins, Tobey LaRoche, Charlotte Malin, Andrew Mangold, Kaitlyn Cronin and more wonderful Fae creatures as they conjure a portal to the forest of druidic experience where we shaketh our booties and come into our own unique magics. We will be creating a space between collective expression and ritual performance, to best presence the many threads of this seasonal shift and our musings upon our ancestral encodings, life, death, and change over time.

This month will be a particularly lively affair, with the container beginning the moment you step through the doors and unfurling into a connective and electrifying sequence of events. Come decked out in your finest costume of whatever creature strikes a chord with your innermost realms. You may be a wandering wizard, a terrifying dragon, an elven princess, a mythical hydra, Zeus the Thunder god or Odin the All Father. Whatever costume you choose, please be thoughtful and mindful of the cultures you choose to represent and their own lineages. Though typically we offer cacao as our liquid concoction, this merry month of May we will be imbibing together a sweet nectar of locally harvested herbal & floral goodies.

Be prepared to enter into the ritual container of the space as soon as you arrive, that means :

* Please no talking on the dance floor unless it is specifically pertaining to safety or consent

* Bring a water bottle, but don't leave it afterwards (we find many a water vessel abandoned)

* You may use the silks during the dance, but please be aware of any sharp zippers, jewelry, etc. which may tear the silks

* Bring drums, shakers, rattles, tambourines, your voice and body to join along with the music making at various points

* Dress as your favorite faery, wizard, dragon, any mythological creature, god, goddess, ancestral figure, etc.! We want to see your wild theatrical side!

* This month particularly we ask that you arrive by 8pm so you can partake in the ceremony and help us set this entertaining yet reverent container

There are two spots for door folks to help in exchange for entry, reach out if you are interested.

The shifts are 7:45-9 and 9-10:15

Thanks!

Tickets are $25 and presales are very helpful because the space gets filled up!

See you soon for this exciting month : )
