Dancing with the Archetypes: A 4-Week Somatic Journey

Step into a deeper connection with your authentic self. This four-week course transforms the notion of identity, using the modality of somatic dance movement therapy with the theoretical framework of Jungian archetypes.

Through a structured yet free-flowing practice, you will discover and embody the archetypes that are most alive within you.

Each week's session is conducted in five parts: warm up, release, theme, centring and closing. The facilitator uses an integrative approach combining sound therapy, art therapy, object relation, expressive movement and spirit connection, just to name a few.

Through the lens of Bartenieff fundamentals this course works to help you integrate these archetypal energies, moving beyond the intellectual to a truly embodied experience for improved mental health.

The theme you will experience each week:

Week 1: Explore the Persona and the Shadow, the mask you show the world and the parts you keep hidden, through dyad work and authentic movement.
Week 2: Find inner balance by moving with the energies of the Anima/Animus and grounding in the wholeness of the Self.
Week 3: Discover and embody the archetype that is calling to you, from the Hero to the Caregiver, through intuitive and authentic dance.
Week 4: Integrate your unique archetypal energies and engage in a joyful, collaborative movement with the group.
