Session ONE begins at 8.30am
Domestic and Family Violence Fundamentals
3.5-hour interactive workshop with group activities
Topics:
· Understanding Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and Abuse
· How to identify DFV
· Barriers to change and accessing services
· Responding to disclosures of DFV
· The impact of trauma on clients
· Children and Young People
· Workers - vicarious trauma and self-care
· Referral/support information for clients and workers
Session TWO begins at 12.30pm
Identifying System Failures and Misidentification
2 hours interactive workshop with activities
Topics:
- How systems fail DFV victim/survivors
- Case study exercises
- Explore options for minimising system failure
Participants will need a good understanding of domestic and family violence prior to attending this training.
Session THREE begins at 2.30pm
Vicarious Trauma and Self-Care
1.5 hours interactive workshop with group activities
Topics:
- What is vicarious Trauma?
- How do we best look after ourselves?
- Self-care planning
