BIM, Digital Engineering, Clash Detection, Common Data Environments, BEP, ISO19650, Level of Development and so much more... this session looks to help de-mystify BIM and help Project Managers understand what they need to know to get it right for their projects and clients.
Join two of Women in BIM's (WiB) NZ Leads, Emma Mannion (Manager - Digitial Engineering Advisory at Beca) and Nastassja Arnott (BIM Coordinator at GHD), who will cover:
• the fundamentals of BIM - what do all the accroyms mean, what are the processes and tool you keep hearing about
• the typical BIM workflow - what steps are undertaken throughout the life cycle of a project
• the role Project Managers play in the successful implementation and delivery of BIM - a spotlight on the importance of getting procurement right
• real world examples of good (and bad) BIM implementation
About the Presenter:
Emma Mannion:
Emma is a Senior Associate at Beca, and the Manager of Beca's New Zealand Digitial Engineering Advisory team. With 15 years of experience working across large scale infrastructure projects and buildings projects, Emma brings her construction experience and combines it with design management practices to influence the BIM Management processes and thinking. She is passionate about working with clients to implement BIM strategies and process at organisational and project levels, and upskilling industry to better create, capture and maintain data about assets. Emma has been a NZ Regional Lead for WiB since 2023.
Nastassja Arnott:
Nastassja is a BIM Coordinator at GHD with 17 years of experience delivering multidisciplinary buildings and infrastructure projects. After 13 years as an Architectural Technician, she transitioned into the field of BIM Management in 2021 – where she is recognised for her strong technical-expertise, problem-solving skills and collaborative approach. Beyond her role at GHD, Nastassja is committed to supporting the wider BIM community through her involvement with Women in BIM. Since 2023, she has been an active mentor in the WIB mentoring scheme and now sits on the global executive committee as Head of Regional Leads – New Zealand.
