This is an in person event and will be held at Beca Limited, 22p Moray Place, Dunedin on 9 October 2025. Networking starts at 5.30pm and the presentation will begin at 6.00pm

The upcoming PMI Dunedin event promises to be an insightful session for anyone involved in project management or the construction industry. Hosted by the Dunedin chapter, this gathering will focus on key aspects of construction contracts and effective project delivery—critical topics for ensuring successful outcomes in complex projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with peers, share experiences, and deepen their understanding of contractual frameworks that underpin robust delivery practices.
About the Presenters:
Sharon Durno, Manager Central Project Strategy and Delivery, from Beca. With her extensive expertise in construction contracts and hands-on experience delivering complex projects, Sharon will offer practical insights into fostering collaboration between clients and contractors in the construction phase. Her presentation will provide valuable takeaways for both seasoned professionals and those new to the field, supporting the ongoing development of project management capability within the Dunedin region.
Sarah Simmers is a Partner at Anderson Lloyd. She advises on procurement processes, drafts construction contracts (including automated NZS contracts), and assists with day-to-day project management. She also advises on other general corporate law matters. She is known for plain English drafting and pragmatic solutions. Sarah is the lead partner for several corporates and institutions. She guest lectures at the University of Otago and presents for the New Zealand Law Society. She chairs the Cancer Society Spring Ball organising committee and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
