Desire, Boundaries & Connection - An Introduction Workshop
Description
Saturday 31 October 2026
11:30 am–3:30 pm
The Breath Bar, Geelong
What do you want?
What does a genuine yes feel like in your body? How do you recognise a no before it becomes resentment, discomfort or obligation? And how do you communicate your desires and boundaries without apologising for them?
Desire, Boundaries & Connection is a grounded introduction to conscious sexuality, embodied consent and more honest connection.
Through guided individual, paired and group practices, you will explore how to notice what you want, communicate more clearly and connect with yourself and others without performing, pleasing or pushing beyond your limits.
The workshop is designed for curious adults who want to understand themselves more deeply and build practical skills around desire, boundaries, consent and connection.
No previous experience is needed. You can attend solo, with a friend or with a partner or partners.
What we will explore
During the workshop, Velvet will guide you through practices exploring:
How boundaries feel in the body
Recognising a yes, no, maybe or not yet
Communicating wants and limits more clearly
Connecting with desire and personal choice
Giving and receiving
Asking for what you want
Receiving another person’s yes or no without pressure
Presence and body awareness
Building a deeper connection with yourself and others
Letting go of automatic scripts, roles and expectations
The workshop includes a mix of discussion, reflection and guided individual, paired and group exercises.
You will not be expected to share personal information with the whole group or disclose anything you would prefer to keep private.
Why attend?
Many people have learned to focus on what other people want before checking in with themselves.
We may say yes to avoid awkwardness, struggle to express desire, wait for someone else to take the lead or assume that a boundary will disappoint another person.
This workshop offers a chance to slow down and notice what is actually true for you.
You may leave with:
A clearer understanding of your own boundaries
More confidence in communicating what you want
Practical language for consent and negotiation
Greater awareness of how your body responds to different choices
A better understanding of giving, receiving and reciprocity
Tools for creating a more honest connection
More permission to be seen without needing to perform
These skills can support romantic and sexual relationships, friendships, dating, group spaces and everyday communication.
Who is it for?
This workshop welcomes adults of all genders, bodies, sexual orientations, relationship styles and levels of experience.
It may be for you if:
You want to become clearer about your needs and boundaries
You find it difficult to ask for what you want
You sometimes say yes when you mean maybe or no
You want to feel more connected to your body and choices
You are curious about consent beyond rules and verbal checklists
You want to explore intimacy and sexuality without pressure
You are interested in a more honest and fulfilling connection
You want practical tools you can use in relationships and everyday life
You do not need to identify as spiritual, highly sexual or particularly confident.
You only need to be curious, listen to yourself and respect others' choices.
Attending solo or with a partner
You are welcome to attend alone, with a friend or with a partner or partners. No pre-arranged partner is needed, and many people will attend solo.
For paired practices, Velvet will guide the group through a simple process of moving around the room and meeting the person in front of them. Partners will change throughout the workshop, so there is no need to find or secure someone to work with.
If you attend with a partner, you can choose to stay together for the practices or explore working with different people. Both options are welcome.
You will never be required to work with someone or take part in a practice that does not feel right for you. You can also adapt an exercise, observe or sit it out.
What happens during the workshop?
The afternoon will include:
A welcome and group agreements
An introduction to embodied consent and boundaries
Individual reflection and body-awareness practices
Guided communication exercises
Optional paired and small-group practices
Opportunities to explore asking, giving, receiving and choosing
Group discussion and integration
The practices may involve conversation, movement, eye contact, proximity or optional touch.
Velvet will explain each exercise before it begins, including what is involved and how you can modify it, opt out or participate in a different way.
Will there be touch or nudity?
Some exercises may include optional, negotiated touch.
Any touch will take place within the clear boundaries established for the exercise and between the people involved. You decide whether touch is included for you, who you work with and what areas of your body are available.
The workshop is clothed.
The focus is on awareness, communication, choice and connection.
Consent and participation
Everything in the workshop is invitational.
You will never be required to:
Touch another person
Receive touch
Remove clothing
Share personal experiences
Explain a boundary
Complete every exercise
Consent is ongoing and reversible.
You can say yes, no, maybe, not yet or stop. You can change your mind at any point, including after an exercise has begun.
Watching, adapting a practice or stepping out are all valid forms of participation.
Access to future Temple events
Completing this workshop gives you access to future Love & Play Temple events without needing to repeat the consent training each time.
The workshop establishes the shared consent framework, communication practices, boundaries and Temple etiquette used across Love & Play Temples. Once completed, you can book future eligible temple events directly, including temple-only tickets where offered.
Each temple may have a different theme, facilitator or style of exploration, but the core Love & Play framework will remain consistent.

Meet your facilitator
Velvet Lilith

Velvet Lilith is a Somatic Sexologist, sex coach and sex educator.
Her work supports people to move away from performing sexuality and towards a more honest relationship with their bodies, desires and choices.
Velvet draws on somatic sexology, sex-positive education, nervous system awareness, Tantra and Neo-Tantra. Her approach is practical, body-based and grounded in the belief that people can learn to better understand and communicate what feels true for them.
Her work creates space for curiosity, uncertainty and change. Rather than prescribing what sexuality should look like, she supports people to question inherited scripts and explore what desire, pleasure and connection mean for them personally.

What is a temple night?
A Love & Play Temple is a facilitated, clothing-optional evening for exploring connection, sensation, desire and consensual play.
Temple nights usually begin with guided practices and a reminder of the shared agreements. The space then becomes more free-flowing, allowing participants to follow their own pace and interests.
Depending on the event and the choices of the people involved, a temple may include conversation, eye contact, sensory experiences, massage, kissing, nudity, erotic touch or consensual sexual activity. Some people may explore sexually, while others may remain fully clothed, connect through gentle touch, observe, rest or spend time on their own.
There is no expectation to undress, be touched or connect sexually with anyone. Every interaction is optional. Consent is freely given, informed, enthusiastic and specific - and you can change your mind at any time.
