We all have blindspots about our behaviour. In some cases, this leads to difficult situations, where a man’s behaviour is causing challenges and potentially, conflict at your Table.
Dealing with difficult behaviour can be the biggest difference between a Table being Healthy or Wobbly. Or worse, it can be the cause for other men to leave the Table.
There are constructive ways to 'call out issues early' and as the Fundamentals state, “discuss the elephant in the room”.
Often, once discussed, there is learning and opportunity for everyone. Almost always, the Table lands in a better and “healthier” place.
In many cases, the man has never received feedback about his behaviour, so it is a gift to him as well.
On rare occasions, things can get tougher before they get resolved, and a man may need to be asked to exit the Table, or take a breather.
If you are keen to learn about tackling a tough situation, or you have a difficult behaviour to address at your Table, please join us to share and learn together at this Community of Men event.
The evening’s flow:
- What are difficult behaviours? What are examples? - there are patterns that show up across Tables
- When and how to call it out - there are a variety of approaches worth considering
- How to overcome the fear of conflict - it is pretty normal to have an aversion to doing this
- What about the worst case scenario? - a man doesn't accept the feedback, or doesn't change
- How to help your Table return to health
