Event description

Over two days, participants will learn how to digitise a chosen museum object from their collection (using either scanning or photographic methods) and plan and prepare a short-form object story (200-250 words) about their chosen object.

At the end of the workshops, volunteers will have developed digitisation knowledge and skills, digitised an object according to museum sector standards (as outlined in the M&G NSW Crystal Clear guideline) and scoped and/or drafted an object story relating to their digitised object, which can be published to the Museums and Galleries of NSW’s Storyplace website.

The Storytelling Workshop will be led by Dr Kate Gahan (Historian and Content Curator) and the Digitisation Workshop by Miranda Heckenberg (Gallery and Museum Digitisation Specialist).
