Discovery Walk - Biodiversity Park

Event description

Discovery Walks are designed to connect you with the nature and community and are offered by Port Environment Centre with a range of walking lengths and locations.

We invite you to join us for our walk at Biodiversity Park, Outer Harbor.

Biodiversity Park is a community space cared for by volunteers and with stories to be shared about planting projects and the power of community action. We will also visit Kardi Yarta playspace for a wander and Kaurna story.

This walk is approx. 3km over a 2 hour period and a moderate level of fitness is needed.

Meeting spot: carpark for Kardi Yarta playground (there is a toilet there) off of the eastern side of Pelican Point Road.

Meeting time: please meet the group at 9.45am so we can all be ready to start promptly at 10am

Initially we cross the road to Biodiversity Park to walk the scrubby trails in a loop before heading to Kardi Yarta to learn more about Kaurna history and the place of the emu.

Walking surfaces include footpaths, compacted gravel and may include some stairs in places.
