"Doosri Dastak" (دوسری دستک) by Rehan Alavi is a powerful and deeply moving drama about love, family, cultural identity, and second chances. Blending humour with strong emotional moments, it takes the audience on a journey through laughter and tears, revealing hidden struggles, fractured relationships, and enduring connections while celebrating resilience, hope, and the courage to open doors once thought closed.

This play reading is presented by Nautanki Theatre as part of the annual Parra-Mela.

In the last 12 years, Nautanki Company has successfully presented 10 live theatre performances and kick-started the annual Parra-Mela (South Asian Cultural Festival) in 2016. Nautanki’s project involved more than 300 actors, performers, crew, and support staff. Our events were attended by more than 10,000 audience members. We reach out to more than 25,000 people based in Western Sydney every year through our various programs.
