    Event description

Human Form Drawing Class: Mastering Proportions, Movement, and Details.

Unlock the secrets of capturing the human form with precision and artistry in our comprehensive drawing class. Designed for artists at all levels, this course delves into the fundamental techniques and advanced skills required to draw the human body with confidence and accuracy.

What will be covered in this course?

    • Introduction to the human body's basic proportions and skeletal structure with techniques for measuring and maintaining accurate proportions in drawings.
    • Understanding proportional relationships between the limbs and the torso, techniques for drawing realistic hands and feet and understanding proportions and structure of the head in relation to the rest of the body.
    • Capturing movement and techniques for drawing the body in motion and drawing various poses to reflect different moods and actions.

We will be seeking volunteers for models during the latter part of the course. Additionally, the class will consider the possibility of hiring a paid model.

By the end of this course students will:

    • Understand the foundational proportions of the human body.
    • Master the techniques for drawing detailed components such as hands and feet.
    • Learn to capture the dynamic movement and natural posture of the human figure.
    • Develop the ability to convey emotion and expression through body language.

You will have created an artwork that you can enter into the November exhibition “Figurative Works: Face & Form”.
