Embossed Copper Printmaking
Description
Join resident artist Julie Moselen for a 1-day creative experience exploring copper plate embossing and traditional intaglio printing techniques.
You’ll start by embossing copper plate pieces with found objects through a metal rolling mill and preparing your plates for printing. Then using Charbonnel etching inks you’ll learn how to ink-up your plates ready to print through our large press. You’ll experiment creating a series of intricate small scale prints, with your copper plates also become beautiful artworks in their own right.
Suitable for beginners through to those with printmaking experience wanting to try different techniques.
Please note: Charbonnel Aqua Wash etching ink is oil based, however clean up is with soap and water rather than solvents.
